Making the choice to integrate renewable technologies into your own home is driven by a number of factors with the most common being; the rising cost of fossil fuels and the RHI or FIT cash back scheme, wanting to do something about carbon reduction, or simply a lifestyle choice with a sense of self sufficiency. We find our customers have undertaken much research and now want to add some reality to the theory, to aid the decision we would recommend customers read the Energy Saving Trusts report on renewable energy solutions. From the installers point of view Retherm would want to ask the following questions.

  • Is your home suitable for your chosen renewable technology?
  • Can we deliver what you are expecting from your chosen solution?
  • What is the most cost effective way to achieve your goal?

To find the answer to these questions we work in a very formulaic way to ensure that neither we, nor the technology, over promises, or under delivers.

The first step is to undertake a simple desk based fact find (price my project) which will cover the basics, such as the number of occupants, hot water consumption, building and/or roof area, existing or proposed heating system (underfloor or traditional radiators) energy supply (single or 3 phase) level of insulation and your chosen technology.

We can quickly ascertain the most suitable solution, its likely energy generation capability, and the probable payback period.

We put all this information into an indicative free, no obligation quotation for you to review. One of our surveyors will discuss its contents with you over the telephone. If this estimate meets with your approval the next stage is a site visit from one of our technical team to undertake a full project survey including a more detailed heat loss calculation for heat pumps and roof survey for solar thermal or PV installations. All of this information will then be condensed into a full and final quotation, scope of works, and payment schedule for your approval.
